The First House of Worship:
"Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Becca [Makkah] - blessed and a guidance for the worlds." — Surah Ali 'Imran [3:96]

"One prayer in this mosque of mine [in Madinah] is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque, except Al-Masjid Al-Haram [in Makkah]." — Sahih Al-Bukhari

"And [also for] those who were settled in Al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them..." — Surah Al-Hashr [59:9]

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "Verily, Abraham declared Makkah a sanctuary and prayed for its people, and I declare Madinah a sanctuary..." — Sahih Muslim
